Test Engineer - Electrical - RCS-1717

The Engineering Test Lab is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer who can apply his/her knowledge and skills in support of our current product portfolio and our future needs, with a focus on automation products. This will require the flexibility to split time between two Raymond Greene test facilities. The ideal candidate will be forward-looking and have the ability to execute toward both near-term and long-term strategic objectives.

Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include:

  • Automation Test leadership for new and existing products
  • Lead responsibilities for 1-2 Engineering Technical Specialists
  • Performing engineering analysis of various basic to complex vehicle systems
  • Identifying tools and procedures for monitoring and maintenance of key test and validation procedures
  • Project management for small projects or subsets of large projects
  • Participating in high-level decision-making

 Requirements:

  • Works with Product Development team to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for product systems, components, or modifications
  • Verifies product requirement specifications
  • Designs, develops, and implements test methods of electrical and electromechanical components and systems
  • Prepares test programs, designs fixtures, and develops measurements to validate specifications and procedures for new and existing products
  • Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing, evaluation, and certification of systems and devices

Familiarity with some of the tools/protocols listed below is a plus:

  • Mathworks tools like MATLAB, Simulink
  • National Instruments tools like LabVIEW, cDAQ, VeriStand, cRIO, PXI
  • CAN communication
  • nCode
  • R, Python, SQL

Must have the ability to plan, organize and carry out technical activities, as well as communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Has the ability to present technical material to technically diverse audiences. Typically works under normal test lab conditions where it is required to be hands-on or process data for extended periods of time.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, with a minimum of 3-5 years engineering experience is required. A master's degree plus at least 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
