Co-Op Electrical Systems Engineering - RCH-2333

6 or 12 months / January - December / 40 hours per week / $15.38 - $21.23
*Housing allowance available to eligible candidates

Your Role:
As an Electrical Systems Engineering Co-Op, you will be treated as a self-sufficient entry-level engineer with an assigned mentor for support. You will be innovative and given the opportunity to design, analyze, and test more efficient and cost effective electrical systems for various models of fork trucks. You will be assigned projects requiring you to work with various teams within the organization in order to gain a better understanding of how the work you accomplish impacts other divisions of the business. You will go through forklift training and acquire your forklift operating license in order to assist in your learning of the products, testing of prototypes, and determining solution activities.

 Your Responsibilities:
  • Research and design experiments for the validation of complex to insure compliance to company standards
  • Prototype electronic circuits and/or systems for proof of design concept
  • Design and develop prototype software for embedded micro-controllers to validate functional conformance to requirements
  • Prototype hardware and software test equipment for circuit verification

Your Key Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical (Electronics) or Computer Science Engineering / Technology
  • A strong desire to be hands-on and spend time in the development and test lab
  • Ability to research electrical components and create circuit designs with senior engineering support
  • Ability to successfully interface with a diverse group (i.e. electrical and software engineering and test lab staff)
  • Analytical with a strong orientation towards research and problem-solving

 Preferred:
  • A working knowledge of CAD for schematic entry and simulation (SPICE, CREO schematic)
  • A working knowledge of ARM processors and embedded C programming language and tools (16 & 32 bit)
  • Strong communication skills - comfortable working with and presenting to a diverse audience
  • Willingness to ask questions & be curious

Your Department:
Electrical Systems Engineering is a team that is responsible for the design of new products, options and features. Our department leads the research of emerging technologies (Energy, Telematics, Forklift Control Systems and Interfaces) and determines feasibility for application in Raymond products. These emerging technologies parallel typical circuits and systems found in automotive and commercial products. Design and development in the Electrical Systems group is accomplished using state-of-the-art lab equipment and software working with leading partners in the industry.


Education/Experience:

Required:
