Intern-Communications and Media Relations

About Institute for Child Development: 

The Institute for Child Development (ICD) was founded in 1974 by Dr. Raymond Romanczyk and is located on the Binghamton University campus. The ICD believes that providing a caring, warm, supportive environment that respects the dignity of individuals and celebrates their unique qualities and potential is the starting point for our myriad of evidence-based assessment and intervention services. The ICD primarily serves children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental delays between the ages of 12 months and 12 years old from across upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. www.icd.binghamton.edu 

Position Summary: 

The Institute for Child Development seeks an intern to support and grow its communications and media relations. The intern’s primary responsibilities will include writing, editing, managing social media platforms and other communication and marketing materials, in collaboration with ICD’s leadership team. The intern is expected to be available for 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities: 

-Assist with marketing development
-Brand messaging
-Assist with website management
-Assist with management of social media platforms
-Research and compile data and information
-Curate marketing content for strategic release on social media

Qualifications: 

-Adaptability and flexibility
-Ability to execute ideas
-Excellent attention to detail
-Strong sense of professionalism
-Excellent articulation and communication skills
-Experience with Apple/Macintosh computers and software
-Experience with web programming
-Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Drive and database systems 
-Aptness to organize, prioritize, and communicate effectively with others
-Ability to work proactively and independently as well as collaboratively
-Adeptness to communicate dense information through simple and informative content
