Johnson City Mentor Program Spring 2020: First Time Applicants

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back to the community, interested in working in a school setting or just love working with kids?

We welcome you to apply to be a mentor through the Johnson City Mentor Program!

The Johnson City Mentor Program is a 2 credit internship program that pairs Binghamton University students with a Johnson City Middle School student for the entire academic semester.
As a mentor, you are required to be a positive role model for the students and will be working with the student for 5 hours a week.

Mentors will gain professional development skills for all industries. Including:
  • Communication Skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Time Management Skills
  • Global and Intercultural Fluency
  • and many others
Transportation is required for this internship. The Johnson City Middle School is about 10 minutes from campus, so if you have your own car, you can drive. We also create a carpool sheet at the beginning of the semester so that those without cars are able to find car pool based on their schedules. There is public transportation available to the Johnson City Middle School on the BC Transit #17 line.

This internship requires students to enroll in a 2 credit CDCI internship course. The seminar class will be offered online for the spring 2020 semester.

Application deadline is Friday, January 24th . Interviews will take place the first and second week of the semester.

You need to apply and interview in order to be accepted and registered for the seminar course.
