Location: Hauppauge, NY 

Duration: Summer 2024

About the Role:

As an Automation Electronics Intern at Basaran Grinder, you will be immersed in the exciting world of automation technology, working alongside experienced engineers to develop and optimize electronic systems for advanced machinery. From programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to sensors and actuators, you will gain practical experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting the electronic components that drive automation in machine building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers to design and develop electronic systems for automation applications in machine building.
  • Assist in the programming and configuration of PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices.
  • Conduct testing and validation of automation systems to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Participate in the assembly and integration of sensors, actuators, and other electronic components into machine designs and electrical subpanels
  • Document and report on project progress, findings, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles and fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in automation (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming software (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000).
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies, actuators, and servo control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
